Arthur J. Burch was a bank teller turned boat builder when he bought the boats at Many Glacier and Two Medicine from Cap Swanson in 1937. He and his wife, Carrie, raised two children while they operated the boat tours every summer in Glacier National Park. Their children, in turn, also raised families in Glacier National Park while working the summers and building the company to its present 5 locations.

The boats are part of the family, too. As you can imagine, these classic wooden boats take endless hours of work to maintain their original splendor. Most of this work has to be done in spring and fall in boathouses on Glacier National Park’s lakes. While the scenery is great, spring weather in Montana is often unpredictable, most lakes are over 5000 feet in elevation and the boathouses are unheated. The amount of pride and determination it has taken for the Burch family to keep our fleet afloat is insurmountable.

So come on up to Glacier National Park, ride the boats, and visit with our family. We've been here a long time, we love this park, and we'd like to share it with you.
